Recipe – Plain Raita

Serves: 6


  • Curd: 1 Cup
  • Water: ¼ Cup
  • Salt: ½ teaspoon to taste
  • Cumin Powder (Jeera powder): 1 Teaspoon
  • Black Pepper powder or red chili powder: 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Fresh Coriander Leaves: Finely chopped, 1/2 tablespoon


  • Mix all the ingredients and whisk it well.
  • Refrigerate the raita for 5 to 10 minutes and then serve.

Cook’s Note

  • You may add chopped onions, to make it onion raita.
  • You may add Chopped tomato and green chili.
  • You may add grated cucumber.
  • You may add grated carrots.
  • You may add soaked Boondi.
