Recipe – Lauki Juice / Bottle Gourd Juice


Prep time: 10 minutes

Serves: 2


  • Lauki (Bottle gourd): Half of a medium sized lauki
  • Water: As required
  • Black Salt: 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Black Pepper Powder: 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Lemon juice: 3-4 drops


  • Peel the skin of a fresh lauki, cut it into 2 halves. Discard the center seeded pulp. now cut the thick outer layer into small pieces.
  • Blend it in a blender. Use Water as required.
  • Strain the juice using strainer.
  • Add salt, pepper powder and lemon juice. Stir.
  • Drink fresh juice.

Cook’s Note

  • Taste a piece and if it is bitter, do not use the other pieces. Take another lauki.
  • You may add sugar, honey, ginger, mint leaves and coriander leaves while blending the lauki.
