Recipe – Potato Tomato Bharta / Mashed Potato and Tomato

Serves: 2


  • Potato: 2, medium
  • Onion: 1 small
  • Tomato: 2, small
  • Green chili: 1
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon or to taste
  • Mustard oil: 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder: ½ teaspoon
  • Cumin powder: ½ teaspoon
  • Lemon juice: 1 teaspoon


  • Boil the potatoes, peel and, mash.
  • Boil water in a pot. Cut a small + sigh at the bottom of the 2 tomatoes and add in the boiling water. Boil for 5-6 minutes. Take out from out. Using the bottom cut, peel the outer skin. Trim the top and mash it. Add this mashed potato.
  • Cut onion and green chili into fine pieces, add in the potato tomato mix.
  • Add all the other ingredients and mix well
  • Serve.
